Mark David Christiansen

He graduated from Cal State Dominguez Hills University with as a 4.0 student with degree in business and fine art.

He worked as a Program Specialist for Madrona Marsh Nature Preserve

He was actively involved in Nature preserve work and was a fine art painter

He is survived by his mother Rose, age 100, and his sisters Karen and April.

Mark, affectionately known by staff and volunteers as the “mystery man,” is the longest-tenured member of the Madrona Marsh team. He has served the City of Torrance for nearly 40 years, including 25 years at the Madrona Marsh Preserve and Nature Center, where he supported daily operations and assisted visitors. Mark worked as an Administrator at the Torrance Municipal Airport and spent nine years with the City of Santa Monica’s Finance Department, supporting budgeting and managing Northridge earthquake recovery funds. He also gained early experience working in all phases of his family’s construction business. Known for his reliability and institutional knowledge, Mark delighted in directing visitors, making each visit both informative and memorable.

The family would like to thank Dawn Beth Rhymes-Cook, John Cook and Miriam Dominguez Taeubel, for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days. More assisted to make Marks last days full of love.…Tracy Drake, Tracey Dunn, Charlene and Dorothy.

A celebration of life is being planned, and we will update as it becomes available.
