Larry Garcia

Larry Garcia, beloved son, brother and uncle/nino, was a longtime resident of Long Beach, Belmont Shore Peninsula. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2021 surrounded by his family. Larry was born July 10, 1946 in El Paso, Texas to Lauro and Maria Elena "Mary" Garcia. He resided with his family in Wilmington and graduated from Phineas Banning High School in

W'1964 and later joined the U.S. Army in 1966. After serving in the U.S.

Army, he proudly joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1970 and

subsequently retired in 2002. Larry, best known to his LAPD family as

"Cookie Monster," was loved and well respected by all. Larry is preceded in death by his parents Lauro and Maria Elena. He is survived by his siblings Martha, Irene, Linda and Michael, four nieces, two nephews and one great- nephew.
