William was 57 years old when he lost his battle with cancer. He was the second youngest of ten siblings. William was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Barbara Eakle. He is survived by his son Travis Eakle and six brothers; Gerald, Jeffrey, Laurence, John, Neil, James and three sisters; Barbara Bernhard, Joanne and Mary.
