Victor was born on July 26, 1944, in Belton, Texas, to Myrtle Irene McKinney Stephens and Robert Lee Stephens.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Gissi Stephens; daughter, Heather L. Materne (Juan) of New Braunfels, Texas; son, Garrett B. Stephens (Alison) of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters, Haleigh Victoria Buck (Robert) of Rockwall, Texas, and Marina Sue Arellano of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Evan Christian Materne of New Braunfels, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Owen Stephen Buck and Mackenzie Ryleigh Buck. He is also survived by his brother, Robert “Bobby” Stephens (Cecilia); sister, Diane Clark (Rick); brother-in-law, Doyle Haese (Iris); and brother-in-law, Michael Gissi (Melanie); and several nieces and nephews.
Victor graduated high school from Concordia Preparatory School in Austin, Texas, and earned a Business degree from Southwest Texas State University.
He began his career in pharmaceuticals as a sales representative with Hoechst AG and retired as a National Accounts Manager, covering seven states in the Southwest. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing at his coast house with his brother-in-law, Doyle, and spending time with friends at Schicke Point, Texas. He had a passion for golfing, working in his yard, enjoying music, dancing, and, above all, cherishing precious moments with his family. Victor was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He had a gift for conversation and could talk to anyone about anything, spending countless hours on the phone with his brother, Bobby, and his sister, Diane—sharing in what they called the "Stephens gift of gab."
Victor had a deep love for his Lord. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and it was important to him that his children and grandchildren knew their Lord and Savior. He took every opportunity to witness to them, sharing his faith with love and conviction.
