Vicky was born to Jack and Frances Horton on August 10, 1947 in Abilene, TX. It was in Abilene where Vicky met and fell in love with Robbie “Joe” Vinson. They married in 1965 and soon relocated to Joe’s Army posting in Germany. Following this deployment, the couple came home to Texas and welcomed three sons.
Vicky gave her time to many endeavors, including the local nursing home, elementary school, and her beloved church, while spending her spare time thrifting and quilting.
Vicky was never happier than when she was with her family. Her greatest joys were her three sons and her grandchildren. Anytime an achievement was made, she famously said, “Well, he/she, is a Vinson.”
Vicky is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robbie Joe Vinson, her parents, Jack and Frances Horton, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Vicky is survived by her son Jeff and wife Ines of Oklahoma City; son Greg and wife Melissa of Bulverde; son Brian and wife Kathryn of Mason; grandchildren Jeshua, Manasseh, Diego and wife Morgan, Ciera, Sophia, Wesley, and Travis; her sister Janet of Paradise, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Vicky’s life will be held at Hill Country Christian Church at 4:00pm on Saturday, February 15th. The church is located at 20845 TX-46, Spring Branch, TX 78070.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the 100 Club of San Antonio, The Parkinson’s Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
