Valentin J. Rojas born in Tivoli, TX., on December 16, 1930 to Victoriano and Eusebia Juarez Rojas. He was born in the midst of the Great Depression. His mother passed away before WWII. He was left to help care for his newborn sister and they were both raised by their maternal grandparents into adulthood.
Valentin lived a full life and retired from VIA METROPOLITAN TRANSIT after completing 25+years of service.
Valentin was married for 33 years, and is survived by his 2nd wife, Gloria Uranga Rojas, and her biological children: Diana Sundar (Philip), Deborah Zepeda (Eric) and Danielle Garcia.
Valentin is survived by his first wife, Lucia, and their biological children Maria Isabel Jimenez, Susan Quintero, Blanche Cottrell (Ronald), Juan Antonio Rojas, Adam Rojas (Kathleen), and Robert Rojas, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, his sister Julia Garcia (Leo) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Valentin was preceded in death by his son Hector Rojas, his brother Basilio Rojas, and sister Juanita Rojas.
He loved fishing, camping and playing his guitar. He passionately played his guitar for 25+ years with the church choir at St Joseph South San Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church.
The family will hold a CELEBRATION OF LIFE on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Ceremony will be held at: CJCLIFE Church 6401 Bandera Rd San Antonio, TX 78238
Flowers will be accepted at CJCLIFE Church on Sept 21-22, 2023, from 10am-4pm.
Refreshment will be served after ceremony.
