Thomas Keith Rice

He was born May 27, 1955, in Seattle, WA, a son of Keith Rice and Virginia Rice and brother of Sue Beeson.

After graduating from the University of Southern California in 1978, Tom worked in the corporate world for companies such as Nabisco, Tri Valley Growers, Starbucks, and Harcourt for almost 30 years. He eventually left these roles to open multiple Huntington Learning Centers around San Antonio Texas, where he spent two decades providing tutoring and test prep to hundreds of kids across the city.

Tom loved golf, skiing, horseback riding, and spending time in the mountains. He was happiest when he was participating in these activities with friends and family, which he did often. He enjoyed long drives, and he eventually became an Uber driver during his retirement, where he stewarded locals and visitors across San Antonio, always offering friendly conversations and safe passages.

In addition to being a friend, uncle, and brother-in-law to many, he was a wonderful father and dedicated husband. He is survived by his loving children, Holly Rice and Nicole Rice, and his beloved wife, Lynn Rice, whom he celebrated thirty-four years of marriage with. His family will miss his laughter and strength.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 1st from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at Sunset North Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas.
