Terry Mitchell Dunkum

Terry graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy as a Seabee. After two tours of duty in Vietnam, he returned to San Antonio and became a police officer. While serving for 30 years, he worked in traffic, detective investigator and as a field training officer. Once he retired, Terry actively served on the security team for his church and provided security while traveling with the Baptist Disaster Relief organization in Texas and the south. In his free time, he was an accomplished artist. Terry loved to be outside and enjoyed boats, hunting and fishing.

Terry is survived by his wife, Frances Dunkum; daughter Lisa Weldon and husband Duane Weldon; son Travis Dunkum and wife Kristen Dunkum; and grandchildren Dustin Weldon, Owen Dunkum and Silas Dunkum.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Bulverde Baptist Church on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery will be scheduled for a future date.
