Teresa Estella Gonzalez Savo was born in 1935 in El Paso, Texas. She was the daughter of Alberto and Francisca Gonzalez of Monterey, Mexico. Teresa moved to Santa Monica, California at the age of 13 and it is in California that she began her life. Teresa met and married Dr. Ted Savo with whom she raised 3 children: Ted Savo jr., Dr. Deanna Savo and Monica Savo Naumoff.
Teresa lost her husband in 2001, and it is during this time that she poured her life into her beloved volunteer work. Her passions included her work at Casa De Los Angelitos, the Los Angeles Natural History Museum as a bi-lingual docent for 28 years and a delegate for the National Democratic Party.
Teresa moved back to Texas 3 years ago to connect with her Hispanic Heritage and to be closer to her daughter, Dr. Deanna Savo. Living her best life at the Incarnate Word Retirement Village, Teresa was especially grateful to be surrounded by such a loving community and the Sisters of Incarnate Word.
Teresa was happiest when she was entertaining, painting, working on her famous bread dough art or when traveling the World.
She is survived by her 3 children and her 7 Grandchildren, Candice Benge, Jonathan Benge, Olive Savo, Matthew Naumoff, Lauren Savo, Anna Naumoff and Joe Savo.
In lieu of flowers, in Teresa’s name she would like all to participate in a random act of kindness no matter how large or small.
