Born Sherry Jan Palmer on August 12, 1949, she was the youngest child of her parents Theodore and Norma. Born and raised in Del Rio, Texas, Sherry enjoyed ‘rooting for the home team’ during her time as a cheerleader in high school.
Soon after high school, she moved to San Antonio and met Bruce Pfeiffer. Sherry and Bruce were married in 1969. She was a wonderful homemaker and raised their children Jana and Aaron in Boerne, Texas. Over the years, Sherry held customer service and manager positions at the offices of attorneys, a hearing center, and several roofing and construction companies.
Later in her life, Sherry met Pete Gerstenberg. Sherry and Pete were married for 25 years. She worked as the office manager for Pete’s roofing and construction companies while raising their daughter, Kayla in the Kerrville area. After his passing, she moved back to San Antonio where she enjoyed the last twelve years with family and friends.
Sherry was at her best when singing in her church, playing with her beloved dogs, or bringing laughter to her friends. She expressed her creative talents through charcoal sketching, watercolor and oil painting as well as wood burning design. Several pieces of her art were hung with pride in her home.
Known for her bubbly personality and wonderful ability to connect with everyone she met, Sherry will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Sherry’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life through her beautiful smile and funny stories of life.
