Rosemary Caroline Jontra

Rosemary J. Jontra passed away on April 12, 2017 in San Antonio Texas at the age of 85.

She was born on April 20, 1931 in Titusville, Pennsylvania to Elmer H. Johnson and Emilie C. (Seitz) Johnson. She graduated from Colestock High School in Titusville in 1949 and attended Indiana State Teachers College, Pennsylvania where she major in Home Economics.

On May 7, 1960 she married Eldin A. Jontra Jr. in Biloxi, Mississippi where she had been living with her Mother after moving to Biloxi in the late 1950s. She met Eldin while working at Keesler Air Force Base as a stenographer.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was also a strong, dedicated Christian and a longtime member of the Methodist church.

She is survived by her Son, Jay Jontra, of Zephyrhills, Florida, Step-daughter, Nancy Bay of Durango, Colorado and Brother, Heinz H. Johnson of San Antonio, Texas. Other family members include: granddaughter Amy Bay Kempinski, granddaughter Katie Bay Mack, granddaughter Meri Bay Clark, grandson Dale Bay Jr., grandson Guy Dale Bay II, granddaughter Gabrielle Bay, and 14 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Sunday April 23rd at 11:45am at the First United Methodist Church in Deming, New Mexico.
