He worked as a barber most of his life. He met his wife Helen who was also a hair stylist. They continued that career working together in a shop in Wolfforth, Texas outside Lubbock.
Keith was actively involved in baseball most of his life and enjoyed tutoring his son Grady who was a left-hand pitcher and received a college scholarship.
Keith has always been quite a character and full of life. He never forgot a joke. For several years, he would perform as an Elvis impersonator. He was 6’4” with dark hair and could really strike a pose.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thurman Grady Sanders and mom, Wanda Lou Hendrix Sanders. Also, his older brother Mike Sanders and granddaughter Ali Murdock.
He is survived by his son, Grady Sanders and wife Vivian Sanders and granddaughter Sutton. His stepdaughter Stephanie Oneal and husband James Oneal and daughter Tiffany Wall. His sister, Teri Sanders Campbell and husband, Gene Campbell. Niece, Lindsey Campbell Redding and husband Will Redding and their children Tyler Kaufman, Kayli Kaufman, and Lillian Redding. Nephew, Chris Campbell and wife Jamie Campbell and their children Theodore Campbell and Oliver Campbell.
The family would like to thank Arbor View Rehab/Nursing facility for the care and compassion they showed Keith in the year he was under their care. They were very kind and often mentioned how they enjoyed him.
We would also like to thank his friends in Kerrville where he had lived and worked at the Water Street Barber Shop for the last several years. Many of his friends and coworkers continued to visit him often this past year and it was so appreciated. We would especially like to thank Nat Condor who was such a special neighbor and friend to Keith and his mom, Wanda, for so many years.
A private family and friends celebration of life will be planned in the near future.
