Our beloved father, Roberto (Bobby) David Ramirez, entered eternal rest on May 6, 2025, just one week shy of his 67th birthday. Born on May 13, 1958, in Laredo, Texas, he was the cherished son of the late Angiolina Margo Ramirez and Judge Horacio Sabas Ramirez. He was raised in Hebbronville, Texas, where he embraced his family's ranching heritage. From an early age, he found meaning and joy in working the family ranches - learning the rhythms of the land, the value of hard work, patience, and stewardship. Ranching wasn’t just a part of his upbringing; it became a way of life that stayed with him always.
After graduating from Hebbronville High School, he attended the University of Texas before transferring to Texas A&I University, where he earned a degree in marketing in 1986. Following graduation, he made San Antonio his home and lived life on his terms - with a charitable heart, a free spirit, and a lifelong bond with the land that shaped him.
Throughout his career, our dad held multiple positions with the State of Texas. He spent 15-years with the Texas General Land Office in appraisal and related divisions, assessing ranch and farm properties across the state. He also held various real estate positions, especially enjoying those that allowed him to travel throughout South Texas, where he connected with oil and gas workers and ranchers. In recent years, he dedicated himself more fully to the oil and gas industry, which allowed him to explore his diverse interests in geology and real estate.
Our dad was known for his warmth, laughter, and generosity. He made friends effortlessly and never hesitated to lend a hand. He was a passionate golfer, who cherished time on the course with his buddies. As an avid outdoorsman, he found peace under the wide Texas sky. He especially loved being at the family’s South Texas ranch, hunting deer, quail, and wild boar. Each season, he proudly provided venison for holiday gatherings, a tradition our family will always remember.
Above all, he was a devoted father. He is survived by his daughters, Adriana Racquel Ramirez and Ellyse Micaela Ramirez. As a devout Catholic, he instilled in us a strong foundation of faith. He supported our ambitions and constantly encouraged us to stay true to ourselves and focused on our dreams. He never missed a chance to tell us how proud he was of us. Some of our most treasured memories are of camping trips together in the Texas Hill Country and road trips through South Texas, where we shared laughter, stories, and embraced what nature had to offer. His free spirit and love of the outdoors will live on in both of us.
Bobby is also survived by five siblings, Horacio Ramirez, Leticia Ramirez, Margo (Jim) Keyes, Ricardo (Carmen) Ramirez, and Marissa Ramirez Anchia. He also leaves behind his loyal dog, Lucy, who rarely left his side and brought him great companionship.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 13715 Riggs Rd., Helotes, Texas 78023.
