Robert Louis Hopkins

Robert Louis Hopkins, 84 of Bulverde Texas, went home to be with his Savior on the morning of February 19th, 2025. He was born June 16, 1940, in Warren, Pennsylvania to Lucretia and Donald Hopkins. He graduated in Youngstown, Pennsylvania, where he lettered in track. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Doris Irene Groves on January 27, 1962. He proudly served in the US Air Force in Vietnam, after receiving his honorable discharge, he was employed by ATI of Washington, Pennsylvania until retirement, Bob and Doris moved to Bulverde Tx, in September of 2021, to be near their family.

Bob served as an elder in his local church in Washington, Pennsylvania for numerous years. He always had a heart to serve all who needed help including delivering meals, fixing lawn mowers and doing hospital visitation. He loved being a Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Great G-Pa. Most of all he loved being a follower of Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirly and brother Donald. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Doris Hopkins, daughters Denise Chadwick (Brian), Luanne Tanis (Bruce), and son Mathew Hopkins (Sara), 4 Grandkids and 3 Great grand kids.

A celebration of life for Robert will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Home Church, 7100 US 281, Spring Branch, Texas 78070. Following the celebration of life will be an interment with military honors at 1:00 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1512 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.

Robert will be laid to rest in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78201.
