Robert Merritt Davis

Robert Merritt Davis of Spring Branch(Canyon Lake), Texas passed away on April 1, 2025 at the age of 81. He was born on October 27, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He grew up in Hornell, New York and graduated from Hornell High School, New York State Maritime College and received an MBA from the University of New Haven, Connecticut.

Bob was an officer aboard ship in the Viet Nam era, and then worked in the Marine Department for Conoco Oil. He then started his own company, Davis Ship Agencies, which son Paul still heads. He retired to Canyon Lake, Texas with partner Jean Whileyman in 2018. Bob enjoyed geology, hiking, Big Bend park, red wine and spending time with his family at his hunting camp.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Wilmot Davis and mother, Dorothy Gertrude Mallonee Davis. He is survived by sons Christopher John and Paul Merritt(Michele), grandchildren Luke Merritt, Jake Michael and Grace Michele, brother Edward(Onita) and sister Donna Love(Bill).
