Randy Lynn Conder

Randy enjoyed playing sports and loved golf, bowling and softball. He was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan and cheered his Minnesota Vikings (the Purple People Eaters) on every year with the hope “this would be their year”. He was his sons’ biggest supporter as he was sideline with all their sports events whether it was roller hockey, basketball, football, or ice hockey. He especially enjoyed traveling with the ice hockey teams. When not watching sports, he was finding new recipes to try on his Traeger smoker.

After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served as a Financial Management Craftsman from 1977 to 1998. His military adventures took him to Offutt, Nebraska; Incirlik, Turkey; Edwards, California; Wiesbaden, Germany and back to where it all started San Antonio (Lackland), Texas with a deployment to Riyad, Saudi Arabia. Along the way, he was awarded numerous medals to include the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 bronze oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with one bronze oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal to name a few.

After retiring he took a position with Citibank as a Policy and Procedures Manager. In March 2009, he came back to the Department of Defense to serve his nation once again as a Budget Analyst for the Air Force Reserve Unit (retiring in 2021).

Randy leaves to cherish his memory his wife of almost 40 years, Anita and their two sons, Justin (Traci) and Brandon of San Antonio. He is also survived by his three children from his first marriage, Nicholas, Chad (Patricia) and Ashlie of Tucson, Arizona. He leaves behind six grandchildren, Justin’s sons Anderson and Braeden Conder; Brandon’s daughter, Emma Conder; Chad and Patricia’s daughters, Lynx and Rainey Conder and Ashlie’s son, Adrian Padilla.

In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Debra (Thomas) Hardy of Springfield, Illinois, and Gina (David) Deal of Tucson, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Patsy) Clements, his father, Donald Clements, and sister Connie Barry.

Services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm with full military honors.
