Paula Marie Chapa

Paula Marie Chapa, born December 29, 1960 in El Paso, TX, passed away with her family and friends by her side May 15, 2017. Paula was loved by all who were blessed enough to meet her. She was a registered nurse for 35 years, helping anyone from newborns to the elderly working throughout the hospital. Paula also worked as a school nurse, making sure that every child who entered her office was comforted and cared for as if they were her own. She loved dancing any chance she got and enjoyed jazz music. Paula loved cooking and baking. Everyone was always after her recipes. If a birthday or holiday was around the corner, you could bet she was baking cookies, cakes and pies. She had enough cookie cutters, pans and recipes to make even the top bakers envious. Paula was also a sports fan. Paula’s favorite team was the Houston Texans. J.J. Watts was her favorite player. On game day everyone could hear Paula yells and laughter all over the house. Paula is survived by her spouse of 36 years, Joe Chapa; children Michael, Alex, Lorenzo and Mia; 5 grandchildren; siblings Jose Luis (Raquel), Arthur (Deborah), Laura, Lowell (Kimberly), nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends. Though we cry and are sad now, we rejoice in knowing we will be united again someday. Paula will be missed by all and her memories will live on forever through the hearts of her family and friends.
