Mrs. Patsy Ann Hendrickson, 76, of Canyon Lake, Texas, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 in her home after a two-year battle with cardiac sarcoma. By her side were her husband, son, daughter and niece, Tammy Hodges of Venice, FL.
Mrs. Hendrickson was born April 8, 1941 at St. Francis Hospital in Macomb, IL to Emmett Vernon and Fern Marie (Furrey) Barker. She was the youngest of two daughters. Patsy was united in marriage on March 25, 1961 to Carl Herbert Hendrickson at the Methodist Church in Blandinsville, IL. From this marriage, two children were born.
Surviving are her husband, Carl Herbert Hendrickson, a son, Steven Gregg (Allison) Hendrickson of Houston TX, a daughter, Joni Sue (Daniel) Fields of Leander, TX, and her sister, Marlene J. Wilson of Mapelton, IL. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Lillis B. Hendrickson-Radtke, D. Cole Fields, Sarah A. Hendrickson, William W. Hendrickson, Carl J. Fields, 9 nieces and nephews and 6 cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Kimberly Wilson.
Mrs. Hendrickson attended Good Hope Elementary school in Good Hope, IL and graduated from Western High School in Macomb, IL. In her early days she was a member of the 4-H, tapped, played guitar, and was an employee of GTE and later a homemaker while residing in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan and Texas. Following her husband’s retirement, they moved to Canyon Lake, Texas. Mrs. Hendrickson recently became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, San Gabriel Chapter.
Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and a friend to many. She will truly be missed by all.
