Norma was born on December 12th, 1936, in Kokomo (Howard County), Indiana, to Rutherford Boyd Craft and Edith Leone (Bruner) Craft. She graduated from Kokomo High School, Howard County, IN, in 1955, and married Edgar Lawrence Banks on August 25th, 1956.
As a newlywed, Norma worked as an office billing clerk at the Kokomo telephone company while Edgar attended Purdue University.
Norma was an Air Force Wife for 21 years. Their growing family (children: Nancy, Jon, Jimmy, and Barbara) lived in Indiana, Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Massachusetts, Alabama, Virginia, and California.
Once all the children were school-aged, Norma worked in different school cafeterias and enjoyed having the same days off as the kids. She also worked at Sears for many years and floated around to all the departments. And for a couple of years, she worked as a receptionist at H&R Block.
After the Air Force, Norma and Edgar spent 18 years living in Weatherford, Texas. Norma was a very successful Tupperware salesperson. She won numerous sales awards, including several cruise trips!
As a mother and a grandmother, she loved, supported, and encouraged her children and granddaughters in all things. And they loved her back.
Norma was a Christian. She loved the Lord. She was a woman of great Faith. She had the spiritual gift of hospitality and never met a stranger.
