Marsha Ann Kolar, 77, died 24 February 2023 at her home in San Antonio, Texas after a short illness. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, 25 March 2023, 9:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Marsha was born on 23 December 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Rose and Chester Lecznar. She married Lawrence Kolar on 01 May 1965. They raised 3 children, Richard (Lourie), Michele, and Robert (Shelly).
The family moved to Texas in 1976 where Marsha was active in her children’s schools, their church, and the community. After their children moved on to pursue their families and careers, Marsha and Larry moved to Georgia, continuing to be active in their home parish of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and with her work at Heritage Presbyterian Church. Marsha and Larry moved back to Texas in 2016 to be closer to family and friends in Texas and California. Throughout her life, Marsha enjoyed vacationing in the state and National Parks, travels through Europe, collecting penguins, crocheting and other crafts, cheering for U of M, and keeping in touch with lifelong friends. She was proud of her Polish Heritage and family history, our U.S. Military, and the achievements of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Her family paid this tribute to her - “Mom was our crazy, funny, caring, loving “nut” and we loved her because of that.” Her friends are grateful for her friendship and “can’t think of any memories that don’t make them smile.”
Marsha is survived by her husband, 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and sisters Bobbi and Sandi.
