Maria Louisa (Mary Lou) Goff of San Antonio Texas passed away on Monday, April 28th, 6:00 pm at the age of 89 at University Hospital, peacefully with loved ones by her side. She was born on June 21st, 1935, in Eagle Pass, Texas where she lived throughout her early life.
She graduated from the University of Texas in 1958 with a degree in Pharmacy. She was one of the first female pharmacists to not only graduate from UT, but graduate with honors. She was an adventurer and loved traveling at every opportunity. She managed to visit 49 of the 50 states and traveled throughout Europe and Mexico. When she wasn’t traveling, she spent her life working as a pharmacist across Texas over a career that spanned 51 years until she finally decided on coming back to San Antonio to be closer to family in retirement. She was active in her retirement community. She enjoyed group outings and group activities. She was even crowned as Bocchi Ball champion.
Maria Louisa was preceded in death by her sister Rosario, daughter Barbara, and both parents Luis and Mercedes Lara. She is survived by her sisters Lupita, and Alicia as well as her son, Charles and four grandchildren (Ethan, Paepin, Kaelin, and Lindsey) and two great grandchildren (Evan and Sophia).
She lived a full life which we will all celebrate with a rosary at 10:30 am followed by a mass at 11:00 am on Monday, June 2, 2025, at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78253 where all family and friends are invited to join us. Her chosen final resting place will be Resurrection Cemetery, Station of the Cross No. 4, Niche 71.
