Luther Clay Law (LC), age 73, passed away May 1, 2019. He was born on August 24, 1945 in Austin, Texas and resided in Uhland, Texas for the last years of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Marie Law, brother Gene Law, and sister Darlene Concienne.
Clay is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Billie Law, sons Daniel and wife Darla, Troy and wife Robin. He is also survived by five loving grandchildren: Lauren (William) Miller, Brittney Law, Tanner Law, Justin Law and Tyler Law and two great-grandchildren Weston and Kendall Miller.
LC grew up in Austin and attended McCallum High School and Del Valle High School where he graduated from. He was an avid athlete who enjoyed playing high school football. He started a career in the Army in October of 1964. After the military, he was part of the Army National Guard. Later in life, LC was very active in law enforcement for the Travis County Sheriff’s Department. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church while residing in Austin and later First Lockhart Baptist Church.
A bucket list item LC accomplished was attending the University of Texas. He didn’t graduate, but he was very proud of this feat. He enjoyed Friday Night Football games watching his two boys play and later in life his three grandsons. His most prideful possession in life was his loving family.
LC was injured while serving in the Armed Forces which led to many health issues. These health issues culminated over time which made him wheel-chair bound. He didn’t let this stop him. He pushed through to the very end. We want to thank Riverview Nursing Home for helping care for LC in last months of his life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in honor of Clay on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at First Lockhart Baptist Church in Lockhart, Texas at 11:00 am. Reception to follow.
