Keturah E. Jackson of San Antonio, Texas was called home by God on March 28th 2017 at Northeast Baptist Hospital. She was born October 24th 1945 in Middletown, CT to the late Harry Smith and Osa Bell Smith (Winston) and resided in Meriden, CT attending Orville Platt High School and later resided in Maryland, South Carolina and finally Texas.
Ms. Jackson was a hard worker employed with New Departure, General Motors and later in life spent many years caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, making clothing for family, close friends and church members.
She was a social butterfly who made friends everywhere she went including her church, Zion Canaan Baptist Church of Columbia, SC. She provided friends and family with support and counsel throughout their lives.
Ms. Jackson’s most notable attribute was her ability to show unconditional love to those in her life. She considered everyone in her life to be family. She took great pride in raising her children and grandchildren. We will all remember her as the young, vibrant, active woman who could not miss one episode of The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.
Ms. Jackson was survived by her sister Barbara (Pat) Hampton and her brother, Eugene Grant Jr.; her children Kenneth L. Covington and his wife Noelle Covington and Sherri M. Covington and her grandchildren; Keesha Covington-Palmer and her wife Alejandra Covington-Palmer, Joshua L. Brunson, Ashley McQuillar, Kendall Covington, Janell Covington, Keturah D. Covington, Justin Offutt, Belinda Hunte and Destiny Taylor as well as her great grandchildren; Vincent Hackett, Maya Hackett, Malia Soto, Joshua Brunson Jr., Jossia Brunson, Jace Hunte, Tiana McQuillar, Avery Covington-Palmer, Addison Covington-Palmer and Ty’Zon McQuillar and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Lena Franks.
Family will receive visitors at 11815 Dove Ranch in San Antonio on April 1st from 12-4pm.
