

Joe was born on November 26, 1965, in Temple, Texas, to the late Sam and Joyce Cater. He grew up in Temple, where he built lifelong friendships and values that stayed with him throughout his life. After earning his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University, he enjoyed a successful career in the banking industry, where he was respected by colleagues and clients alike.
Joe will be remembered for the positive impact he made on the lives of his family, friends, and colleagues. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, warm heart, and devotion to his family.
Joe was especially proud of his two daughters, Camille and Celeste. Being their father was the greatest joy and purpose of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, always offering unwavering love, guidance, encouragement, and laughter. His daughters were his greatest pride, and the bond they shared will remain a lasting source of strength and treasured memories.
He was also an avid Cowboys and Aggies fan who enjoyed music, golf, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and gathering with family and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Joyce Cater, and his brother, Walter Bruce Cater.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Camille Cater and Celeste Cater; his sisters, Lynda Rieger and her husband, Ken, and Kim Joseph Hansen and her husband, Steve; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Joe's kindness, gentle spirit, and love for his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His memory will continue to be a source of comfort, gratitude, and love for years to come.
