Jose M. Trevino Jr “Pepe” (USAF Ret. MSGT) went to be with our Lord on January 2, 2024 at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC). He died peacefully surrounded by his family. He was loved and will be sadly missed.
Jose was born in Del Rio, Texas on November 4, 1937 where grew up working at his family grocery store until he enlisted in the military. He married the love of his life, Maria Tere Reveles Guerra, and together they became a military family. He served honorably for 23 years in the United States Air Force where he was deployed to Vietnam and served two tours in Europe.
Jose retired at Lackland AFB in San Antonio and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Our Lady of the Lake University with a specialty in education. He worked as a substitute teacher, but due to his health problems, he never taught his own class. Jose enjoyed woodworking in his free time. He and his wife, along with their two Chihuahuas, would sell items at local markets.
Jose is survived by his wife Maria T. Trevino; one daughter Maria R. Ramirez (her late husband Martin Ramirez), one son Jose M. Trevino III and wife Nadine C. Trevino; four grandchildren: Dallas M. Trevino, Tyler R. Trevino, Jean A. Trevino and Denton C. Trevino; one sister Ofilia Reyes; and by numerous nephews, nieces and extended family and friends.
The family plans mass celebration at St. Lawrence Church in San Antonio, at 10:00 a.m., February 9, 2024. He will be buried with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:45.
