Jane Rose Howard

Jane Rose (Boucher) Howard, 81, of Universal City, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2016, due to complications from Alzheimer’s. She was born on August 3, 1935, in Pampa, Texas, to James Monroe and Dovie Dean Boucher.

Jane graduated from Lefors High School, Lefors, Texas, in 1954, and attended Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, Texas.

She was a devoted employee for nearly 40 years. She worked for the Pampa Daily Spokesman, Pampa, Texas; America-Fore Insurance Group, Abilene, Texas; Land-Air, Corp., Cheyenne, Wyoming; Henson, Easley, & McGuire, Attorneys-at-Law, San Antonio, Texas; The Dean of Student Life at The University of Texas, Austin Texas; and Reginal Roberts Architectural Firm, San Antonio, Texas. Predominately, however, she worked in the banking industry for over 23 years. While working for Central Park Bank, San Antonio, Texas, she was promoted to Vice President. She continued in the position of Vice President for First City Bancorporation when First City purchased Central Park Bank. She retired in 1993.

She loved music, especially the piano and organ. While living in Cheyenne, Wyoming, she played the organ at numerous chapels on F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, and for a reception held at the Governor’s Mansion of Wyoming. In San Antonio, she served as organist for chapels at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

Jane is survived by her husband, Don R. Howard, of 62 years; her two sons, James David (Regina) Howard, and Alan Douglas (Shirley) Howard; grandchildren, Stormy (Chad) Young, Monroe, and Matthew Howard; great grandchildren, Archer and David Young; brother, James Philip Boucher; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Joy Dalton. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Monroe and Dovie, grandson, Dustin, and sister-in-law, Estell.
