Jacquelin Ann Doucette Lynott, age 93, of Seattle, WA, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025. She was born to parents John Joseph Doucette and Doris Capell Cavender on January 26, 1932 in Queens, N.Y.
Jacquelin graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle, WA in 1950, and went on to study Education at the University of Washington. She taught elementary education in the U.S., the Philippines, Japan, and ultimately in Mexico City, Mexico. It is in Mexico City where she met and married her husband Oscar Brian “Bud” Lynott of 28 years. Together they raised 3 children: Brian Robert, John Edward and Marcia Ann. After over 50 years in Mexico City, Jackie retired to San Antonio, TX in 2011.
Jacquelin is survived by her daughter Marcia Ann Lynott Barkis (Joseph Daniel Barkis) and her 5 grandchildren: Elizabeth Lynott, Inez Lynott, Jacquelin Lynott, Oscar Barkis and Molly Barkis. She is preceded in death by her husband Oscar Brian Lynott (1990), and her sons, Brian Robert Lynott (1997) and John Edward Lynott (2009).
A private family ceremony to spread her ashes at sea will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the Jane Goodall Institute.
