Jack was preceded in death by his caring parents, Alice Franke and Edwin "Bobby" Franke, whose love and guidance shaped the person he became. He was also preceded by his cherished niece, Jodi Hoss.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Sharon Fitzpatrick, and Donna Hoss, who were not just siblings but his closest friends. Jack shared a special bond with each of them that brought joy and comfort to their lives.
Jack's love extended beyond his immediate family. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Vander Steen (Richard), Tyson Fitzpatrick (Traci), Tiffany Crawford (Michael), Jesse Hoss (Tammy), and Andrew “Trey” Fitzpatrick (Keri). He played an integral role in their lives, providing support, guidance, and a treasure trove of stories and wisdom.
Jack was also a beloved great uncle to numerous great nieces and nephews who adored him and looked up to him as a role model and source of inspiration.
Jack had a several careers throughout his lifetime, selling real estate, cars, and trucks. What he was most proud of was his service in the United States Marine Corp. He served his country with honor, courage, and dedication, exemplifying the core values of the Marines. His commitment to his fellow servicemen and the nation he held dear was a legacy he carried with him throughout his life and took with him to his final resting place.
His other great love, other than God, country, family, and friends was playing golf. Jack had a profound love for golf. The green fairways and the challenge of the sport brought him immense joy and fulfillment and even sometimes, frustration. His skill on the golf course was evident as he played in numerous tournaments, boasting a couple of holes in one, a testament to his dedication to the game. Jack also gave generously to many charities. Some of his favorites were Toys for Tots, the Food Bank and Meals on Wheels. His selfless contributions touch the lives of countless individuals and families in need.
While Jack has now bid farewell to this world, his memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of those who knew him. His love for God, family, friends, and country, along with his passion for golf and his philanthropic endeavors, leaves a legacy of compassion, kindness, and determination that will continue to inspire and uplift others.
As we celebrate Jack's life, let us remember the cherished moments, the laughter shared, and the generosity he bestowed upon those less fortunate. In our hearts, he will forever remain an exceptional individual who lived life to the fullest and left a lasting impact on the lives of many.
In honor of his life and service, a military funeral will be held to pay tribute to Jack's service in the United States Marine Corps and to celebrate his extraordinary life.
Rest in peace, Jack Laurence "Snuffy" Franke. Your memory will be cherished, and your legacy will live on.
Jack’s service will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on August 14, 2023, at 10:15 am at Shelter #2., 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
