He was born on July 29th,1947 to H.S. and Corene Cain Colvin in Kenedy, Texas. Cappy is survived by his loving wife, Janice, son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Julia, and two precious grandchildren, Amelia and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his only brother, Johnny, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cappy married the love of his life, Janice, on August 5th, 1972. They met on a blind date, which lasted 53 ½ years.
After graduation from Kenedy High School, he attended Texas Lutheran University, The University of North Texas, and the California School of Professional Psychology, where he earned degrees in Clinical Psychology. Cappy worked at numerous places all involving Mental Health. He was passionate and very knowledgeable about the field. He loved what he did, and he aimed to make a positive difference in all of his clients. Cappy was a wonderful resource and could discuss all areas of Mental Health, regardless of what particular area. He never got tired of talking with people who were interested in the field.
Because Cappy was an avid reader, he had a study packed with books in which he remembered what each book was about. Janice always knew what to get him for Christmas, his birthday, or any other special day!
Cappy had a keen sense of humor. He loved to joke with people and tease them to the point where they didn’t know if he was telling the truth or joking. He loved to laugh and have a good time. Above all though, he loved his grandchildren. He never got tired of seeing them and always looked forward for a chance to babysit.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 28th, at 10:30 at Shepherd King Lutheran Church, 303 W. Ramsey Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
The family wishes to thank Guiding Light Hospice and Homewatch Caregivers for their watchful care.
