Hal Eric Manzke, age 78, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024. Hal was a Master Naturalist and longtime educator for 35 years who loved being outdoors and working with all people, young and old alike.
Hal is survived by his wife of 44 years, Melva, sons Hans (Trish) and Marc (Sarah), grandsons Skye, Ori, and Avi. He is also survived by his four brothers John Rolland (Rollie), Chris, Ted, and Kevin, extended family, and many friends. His older brother Rollie gave him the gift of life through a kidney donation in 1980.
We will celebrate Hal's life with a service in late spring 2025. Some of Hal's ashes will be spread in one of his favorite places in West Texas, as well as on his favorite bike path in Pennsylvania.
If you feel so moved, you can make a donation in Hal's honor to the Alamo Area Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist (AAMN), a non-profit he loved and contributed to for many years. All donations will support AAMN environmental projects. Please use this link: https://buy.stripe.com/dR6cPn6oB8ZUde814J
