

Grace attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Uvalde High School in 1984. She continued her education at Uvalde Junior College before joining the United States Air Force in 1987. She served with distinction for six years, achieving the rank of Sergeant and serving as a Radio Communications Analysis Specialist. Her assignments took her to Crete, Greece; South Korea; and several Air Force bases in Texas, including Goodfellow, Kelly, and Lackland. She was the recipient of numerous honors, commendations, and medals, and was a proud Air Force veteran.
Following her military service, Grace held several jobs in the Information Technology field before she began a long and successful career with GE/Synchrony in 2000. Over the next 24 years, she held increasingly responsible positions including Senior Network Project Manager, Senior Network Architect, Network Integration Manager before retiring in 2024 as an Assistant Vice President, Scrum Master.
Grace was a vibrant and adventurous soul who embraced many hobbies, including jewelry making, scuba diving, snowboarding, skiing, reading, and watching movies. In her retirement, she found joy in cooking and mastering recipes she discovered through her favorite shows and bloggers.
Grace was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Francisco and Anita Martinez, and her brother Michael. She is survived by her loving siblings and their spouses: Carol Martinez Tovar, J.F. and Marta Martinez, Joe and Ester Martinez, Mary Ann and Henry Uriegas, Robert Martinez, Lucy and Daniel Campos, Cecilia Martinez, Teri and Albert Perez, Norma Martinez Barrett and (+Charles Barrett), Jas and Gail Miller Martinez. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Methodist Hospital and VITAS Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during Grace’s final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Rosary and Funeral Mass that will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 13715 Riggs Road, Helotes, TX 78023, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, with the Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the Mass at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209, at 1:15 p.m., Pavilion #2.
Flowers may be delivered directly to Fort Sam Houston Cemetery, Pavilion 2, on the day of the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Grace’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Grace’s courage, kindness, and unshakable faith will live on in all who knew and loved her.
