Eugene Wayne Lang, age 70, passed away at his home on April 24th, 2018 with his beloved wife Allison, daughter Stephanie and grandchildren Haley, Cash and Cole at his bedside. He fought a long and hard battle against a very rare neurological disease known as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, (PSP) which has no cure at this time. Eugene was born on September 13th,1947 at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio. He was the son of Cora and Robert Lang, both deceased. He resided in Boerne most of his life and attended Boerne High School we're upon graduating, he joined the United States Navy. Upon completing a three-year tour in Vietnam, Eugene went on to follow in his father's footsteps working for the Southern Pacific / Union Pacific Railroad for nearly 30 years. After retiring in 2009 he and his wife Allison were able to pursue their life-long retirement dream and traveled extensively seeing the United States in their dream motorhome. Eugene served as a director of the Boerne Berges Fest prior to his retirement , he was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus with the Boerne chapter and also the Kerrville chapter, where they moved to after retirement. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Allison, daughter Stephanie, grandchildren Haley, Cash and Cole. Brother Robert Lee Lang and wife Judy; sister Gloria and husband Bill Porter of Mississippi and multiple nieces and nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Bowman of Boerne and Belinda Goode Lang, also of Boerne Texas. A rosary will be held Monday May 7th at 7:30 p.m. in St Peter's Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be held Tuesday May 8th at 1 p.m. also at Saint Peter's Catholic Church Boerne Texas, 202 W. Kronkosky Street, Boerne Texas, 78006.
