Erwin V. Lochbrunner Jr. went to be with our Lord on August 25, 2016. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family, after battling cancer for 18 months. He was an inspiration & witness to many. Never complaining or giving in to self-pity, he always said it was a “win-win” situation. “If I live, I win, if I die I win, I’ll be in heaven”. Win was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on Dec 30, 1950 to Gertrude & Erwin Lochbrunner. He attended Cor Jesu High School followed by acceptance to UNO/LSU. While completing his studies, he served in the Louisiana Air National Guard & worked for the Kenner Police Dept. After graduating, Win entered into the insurance industry which lasted 40 years. He began at Continental Insurance Co. & retired in 2016 from Fireman’s Fund/ACE. Win is survived by his wife Margaret “Cookie” Woods Lochbrunner; his beloved family by marriage, daughter Cathy (Gary) Newton; sons Chad (Annette) Coffman, Chris (Natalie) Huggins; grandchildren Meg & Colette Newton, Mia & Cooper Huggins, Rocco Coffman & Will, Jake & Kate Medley; brother in law Bill (Elizabeth) Woods; brother Eric (Melanie) Lochbrunner; sister Helen (Ed) McGawley; nephews Eric Lochbrunner Jr., Greg Woods; Uncle Erich (Carol) Lochbrunner & numerous cousins. He was highly respected for his knowledge, work ethic and willingness to share & mentor which created many lifelong friendships. He took pleasure in his Wednesday night bible study group & serving in the Guest Services Ministry at Community Bible Church where he was a member. Besides being a gym rat, Win also enjoyed reading, boating, shooting, skiing, garage/estate sales, golfing (where he measured his success on the number of balls he lost) & relaxing with family & friends at his & Cookies “summer home on wheels” at Canyon Lake. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, strength of character, sense of humor, dependability & devotion to his family. He was deeply loved & will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Community Bible Church, located at 2477 N Loop 1604 east; on Saturday, October 08, 2016 at 10:00am. Pastor Emeritus Robert Emmitt will officiate with a reception to follow.
