peacefully on January 21, 2025. Betsye was born on September 10, 1966, in
Rockford, Illinois, to Paul and Marguerite Macke.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Macke; her brother, Thomas
Clarence Macke; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Macke and Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Mincemoyer.
Betsye's vibrant personality and kind heart made her a light in the lives of
everyone she met. She lived for many years in Seguin, TX, where she became a
beloved member of the community. She participated in parades, served as an
acolyte at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, and worked at Schlitterbahn in New
Braunfels, where her cheerful nature touched countless lives. In her later
years, she formed new and cherished friendships in Spring Branch, New
Braunfels, and The Heights of Bulverde, where she was a resident since
October 2023.
Betsye is survived by her loving mother, Marguerite Mincemoyer; her
brothers, Joseph Macke and partner Cherry of Houston, TX, and Daniel Macke
and wife Sue of Trabuco Canyon, CA; her sister, Paula Whittington of
Portland, TX; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who held a special
place in her heart.
Betsye was known for her boundless capacity for love. While she didn't
always agree with everyone, it never stopped her from embracing and caring
for those around her. She brought joy wherever she went, and her legacy of
kindness and compassion will be deeply missed.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at
The Heights of Bulverde for their exceptional care and friendship during
Betsye's time there.
In the words of Hebrews 13:2, Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for
thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
