Dorothy was born in French Camp, CA to the late Charles Holman and Elizabeth Dimmitt Holman on December 26, 1937. She attended Fortuna Union High School in Fortuna, CA. She worked in transportation for more than 20 years before going on to become a Certified Medica Assistant and then gaining an A.A.S. in Nutrition from Tarrant County College. Dorothy enjoyed teaching her grandchildren, gardening and landscaping her home, and being in the outdoors.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth; her brother Darold; and her ex-husband William Kornrum.
She is survived by her sister Alice Holman Quinn; her brother Alfred Holman; daughters Cynthia Kornrum Brown, JoAnn Kornrum Parchman and Desiree Kornrum Byrne; four grandchildren Christopher Batton, Richard Batton, Jr. (R.J.), Michael Byrne (Preston) and Victoria Byrne; and two great-grandchildren Katie Batton and Dean Batton.
Dorothy planned for cremation and will be interred at home. It was Dorothy's wish that family and friends remember her as she was in life. In lieu of a funeral, memorial or flowers, she requested that friends and family consider making a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org and the Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Network https://www.pancan.org .
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Amanda Bucheit, Dr. Jennifer Brody, Stone Oak Methodist Hospital and Sonterra Care Center for their support in her final days.
