Donald Leland Myers

Don served several years as a pilot in the Air Force, met and married Josephine Brooks in 1956 while stationed in Texas. Don and Jo were blessed with three children, Don Jr., Brooks, and Joy. After the military, Don earned a teaching and Master’s degree while spending most of his career as a teacher in both Texas and Nebraska.

In 1982, Don met and married Sue Brockman Wierman, mother of John and Anna Wierman, and shortly thereafter Don and Sue were blessed with Alicia and Samantha. Don and Sue were also foster parents to many youngsters. After retirement from teaching, Don was a mailman in San Antonio, Texas. Don enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, camping and volunteering in his community. He was kind, generous, and loving, with a strong faith in our Lord and Savior.

Don passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3rd, 2025 at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue, his daughter Anna, and his older brothers and sisters. He is survived by his younger sister, Ruth; his children, Don Jr., Brooks, Joy, John, Alicia, and Samantha; 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren (with one more on the way).
