It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Lee. He passed away peacefully at his home in Spring Branch, Texas, on April 17, 2025, after a 10-week battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family and was 70 years old.
Born on September 30, 1954, in California to Austin and Edith Lee, Dennis grew up alongside his siblings Dwayne, Dale, and Dalene. He carried with him the values of hard work, integrity, and love for family throughout his life. He met his beloved wife, Melodie, at Point Loma College when they were both 18 years old, and they later settled in Sacramento.
During their 51 years of marriage, Dennis cherished being the father of their three children—Angela, David, and Catherine; the grandfather of Sierra, Gabriella, Isabella, Jackson, Alexander, Levi, and Kathryn; and the great-grandfather of Anthony, Nathaniel, Ian, and Ezra. He lovingly embraced his sons-in-law, Anthony and Mike; his daughter-in-law, Mary; his grandsons-in-law, James and Ethan; and his soon-to-be grandson-in-law, Roland, as his own.
Dennis dedicated the last 30 years of his life to Leeway Inspections, Inc., the nationwide company he founded in 1995. He built his business into one with remote capabilities, honoring both military spouses and his own love of travel. In 2018, he was able to pursue this passion full time when he and Melodie became full-time RVers, traveling across America to their hearts’ content. After nearly four years on the road, they joyfully settled on their youngest daughter’s property, where Dennis spent countless hours enjoying “porch time” and playing fetch with his toy poodle, Archie.
Dennis’ presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at The First Baptist Church of Boerne in Boerne, Texas, on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
For all our friends and family from Sacramento, if you cannot make it to this celebration, please do not fret, we will have a little informal gathering in Sacramento/Elk Grove area to honor Dennis at the end of September.
