To the Duffy Family, 

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.  We surely miss his infectious smile.

I worked with Dave for ~ 8 years at the AFPC Center…we visited every day on my usual break walk around.  A real gentleman and always conversive on any topic.  I retired before Dave but I thought about our conversations often.  He was well respected for many reasons but mostly for his friendship.

Dave,  You are so much more than a friend.  You are truly my brother and I will miss our talks and laughs so very much…but don’t think for a minute our talks have paused. I still talk to you every day on campus and I know you hear me.  You made my family part of your family and we are better people for that. You are truly one of a kind and there will never be another with your spark, your smile , and your quick wit.   We will carry the torch down here, and smile at every concert we go to, cheers you on every ride we take, and will raise a glass with you again in do time.  Love you brother. My brother, David, was an incredibly kind, thoughtful, caring, loving human being to not only myself, but to so many others. Whenever we were out and about together, he’d always take a few extra minutes to talk to people wherever we were. He had a wicked and sharp sense of humor that made us all laugh. He made it a point to “live large “ by remaining true to his passions of going to rock concerts and  having a positive attitude. I loved being his little sister and will miss him forever.  I’m also beyond grateful for having had him in my life.

The eldest of the Duffy siblings, my brother David, joined my mom and my sister, Marybeth, in Heaven yesterday. Those of you who knew my brother when we were kids, know how much of a rebel he was-breaking the rules, listening to loud rock music, driving cars way too fast, and giving my mom and dad a real run for their money!! From there, he set off on hundreds of adventures. Way too many to count but all involved true living. As we all have been exclaiming, “Dave lived LARGE!” He was incredibly kind, funny as hell, adventurous, as fiercely strong as he was gentle, loyal, ethical, so hard-working, and loved to talk!!!  He and I were the oldest and the youngest of the Duffy gang and I loved being his little sister.  For years we communicated through letter writing while he was in the Air Force and I was growing up. He always lived far away but emotionally, he was just next door.  He never stopped going to rock concerts, he never stopped laughing and loving and he will never be out of our hearts: it’s a permanent lock.

I first met Dave in the summer of 2015 and our paths crossed again years later when I returned to AFPC AEF Ops.  Dave was such a great person and friend.  His smile was contagious, and he always made you feel like you were the only person in the room.  Smart, funny, with a quick wit, Dave had a positive vibe surrounding him that made everyone perform better and work was never boring when he was around.  Going to miss you, Dave.  Rock on!  You were one of a kind.  Until we meet again in His house.

Dave, was a great guy. I'm glad I got to give him a hard time at work. I enjoyed his stories about his concerts, family, and time in service. He will truly be missed. My love and prayers are with his family.

Dave was a really dear, dear, friend to me and I am going to miss him … it hasn’t been easy for me after being diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) … BUT Dave  reached  out to me in March and had some  beautiful words of wisdom, strength and motivational encouragement in the most funniest and sweetest cards.  His cards has helped me through whilst my stay at MUSC Charleston SC  for almost 3 months..  
Dave - - ya ‘ole geezer .. you will always have my utmost respect both professionally and personally … God knows all about you and I made sure - - he had the best seat in the house for you

Dave, and I worked together from 2006 until I moved over to ACC HQ staff in 2008 and Dave left for San Antonio.  I will never forget the smile, his willingness to come and have lunch with me whenever I was in town and his love for his motorcycle.  My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends.  Dave will be missed but I know he is now listening to the best music there ever has been and loving every minute of it.

I'm very sorry to hear about Dave's passing.  A great person to work with for sure!  I worked with Dave at Randolph starting back in 2009 until I left in 2019.  He was a good man with a good heart, and I know he is in a better place now.  My sincere condolences to his loved ones and friends.  God bless you all and help you in this difficult time.
