Dana Helene Lewis

Dana Helene Lewis of San Antonio, Texas passed away on July 3rd, 2023. at the age of 66. She was born on May 29th 1957 in Fargo, North Dakota. Her family moved to San Antonio in 1967 to escape the cold winters.

She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1975 with her baby and first husband. She worked for many years in the healthcare field, among other jobs. She enjoyed meeting new people and never met a stranger. She was beloved by everyone she met along the way.

Dana is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Scheetz and Sharon Lavine Scheetz; her grandparents, Ervine Lavine and Rose Gardner, who held a special place in her heart; and her dogs, Kia and Lil’Bit.

Dana enjoyed her time volunteering for the Helotes Humane Society and tried to find homes for all the pets she met.

She is survived by her only daughter, Leah Thomsen (Travis); her sister, Jodie Loredo (James) and her children Sarah Bartos (Jeremy), Aaron Loredo (Chelsey) and Jared MLJ (Keighley); sister, Susan Scheetz; and brother, Erik Scheetz (Kristen). She loved her nieces and nephews like her own, Baby Liv, Mae, Alex, Julian, Ava and Grayson.

The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days. Per her wishes, Dana has been cremated.
