Carlos Juarez

Carlos Juarez, a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully at his home on April 7, 2026, at the age of 76. He bravely confronted and fought cancer with strength and dignity.

Carlos was born on October 5, 1949, in Lockhart, Texas, to Ramon and Petra Juarez. He graduated from Lockhart High School and went on to proudly serve his country as an honorable Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Carlos retired from VIA Metropolitan Transit after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed traveling, running, and entertaining family and friends. Carlos had a remarkable ability to bring people together and maintained lifelong friendships wherever he went. He was a man of great courage, integrity, and character.

Carlos is survived by his devoted wife, Katherine P. Juarez, with whom he shared over 41 and a half years of marriage. He is also survived by his beloved daughter, Patricia Ann Juarez, and granddaughter, Angelina Hurtado ( Manuel).

He leaves behind his sister, Lupe Johnson, and her son, Jacob Juarez, as well as his brother, Delfino Juarez, his wife Vera, and their son, Raymond Luis. Carlos was preceded in death earlier this year by his brother, David Juarez, who is lovingly remembered through his children Niiki, Zachary, and John David Juarez.

Carlos is also survived by his step-son, David B. Ezell, and (Lisa), who blessed him with grandchildren Lane, Dalton, and Kyndal Ezell. His step-daughter, Laura Jane Johnson, and (Stephen), blessed him with grandchildren Tanner, Peyton, Brandon, and Macayle Johnson. Along with four great-grandchildren and one more on the way.

Carlos was deeply passionate about his family and his many friends. He and his wife truly “met no strangers,” and their travels resulted in countless cherished, lifelong friendships. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the enduring love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
