He worked as an Aviation Electrician for Boeing San Antonio since January of 2020. He was one of the few with “Tribal Knowledge” of the FA 18 fighter jets used by the Navy. He worked on the FA 18’s for Boeing and during his 8 years in the Navy. He was part of VFA 27 Royal Maces. His peers rated him as one of the best. When he was discharged he worked various jobs doing fabricating and welding. He had talent for those fields as well. He also attended Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) for unexploded ordinance and bomb training in early 2011 and received his Civil Engineer number. In 2017 he moved to Ridgecrest, CA to work on FA 18’s as a civilian. He was back at the Naval Weapons Testing facility, China Lake, where he spent time when he was enlisted.
Brandon loved gaming. He played daily. Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, on his phone… He started playing Nintendo, Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt,Tetris all the games when he was a kid. He also was an avid weapons collector. Pistols, rifles, swords, knives, spears, blow dart guns, you name it he either had it or wanted it. He even has a flame thrower!
Brandon also loved his family dearly. His world revolved around his girls Judith and Juliet. They were what he lived for. He adored them and would do anything for them. Anything. He loved us all. He was a protector. Even before his Navy days. Part of the reason for his interest in weapons was protection. He grew up around weapons with his Papaw and Uncle Jack making certain he knew how to handle a gun early in his life. He and Jack shared a passion for weapon collection.
Brandon could have some fierce looks on his face. He could be quite scary. But deep down he was kind and loving. He would have laid down his life for any of us. He loved his time in the Navy, he loved the pressure and the accomplishment of keeping the jets flying. He would have retired from the Navy but he got out because the attitude was changing. Lack of discipline. He didn’t like that.
He was funny. He had a dark sense of humor. Sarcastic, dirty, morbid, inappropriate in every way. Shock factor. He loved to shock people. He loved the reaction. He loved to show everyone his latest toy. A new weapon, new computer, whatever. We all love Brandon and he is missed now and forever. We will carry on his memory by lighting the fire pit with the blow torch, shooting off fireworks and firing a gun in the ground at New Year’s and by fiercely loving and protecting our family as he did.
