Blanca Sara Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 93. She was a woman of extraordinary strength, compassion, and grace — and a timeless beauty whose presence lit up every room.
Blanca was a devoted educator who taught second grade for 30 years. She poured her heart into her classroom, guiding young minds with patience, love, and a gentle but steady hand. She cherished her five children fiercely and held a deep affection for her brothers and sister, whom she loved dearly.
Blanca lived with a joyful spirit and a true love of life. She enjoyed music, playing slot machines, a juicy story, and never missed an episode of the Housewives. More than anything, she loved to laugh — a warm, contagious laugh that brought people together and made her company unforgettable.
Blanca is preceded in death by her husband, Rafael Garcia.
She will be deeply missed by her children: Sandra Puig Esparza (Felipe), Lorraine Puig de Arrigunaga (José), Debra Puig Bryant (Gary), Darío E. Puig III, and David E. Puig (Verónica).
Blanca is also survived by her sister, Grace R. Platt, and her cherished grandchildren: Amanda Carollo, Audrey Esparza, Alyssa Esparza, Ashley Salazar, Aleighna Salazar, Lorraine de Arrigunaga Wright and David E. Puig 11.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Hugen T. Nguyen and nurse Adrienne McCray for their compassionate care and kindness during Blanca’s final days.
They would also like to express special thanks to the hardworking and caring staff at Franklin Park Heights, whose dedication, patience, and warmth brought comfort to Blanca and her family. Their support made a meaningful difference, and the family is deeply grateful.
Blanca Sara Garcia lived a beautiful life — She leaves behind a legacy that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her.
