Ben was born on November 18, 1939 and grew up in Lamesa, Texas.
Ben spent his early years working on the family ranch in Gaines County, Texas with his aunt Dell Howard. He then worked as a claims adjuster until his retirement with General Motors in Dallas, Texas. After which, Ben opened, owned and operated Ben Alexander Motor Company in Ballinger, Texas until his retirement.
Ben was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with friends for many years. In his later years, he enjoyed tv and lap time with his handsome cat Rudy. Ben was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas.
Ben is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Don Alexander and his father-in-law Paz Garcia, brothers-in-law Mario Garcia and Domingo C. Garcia. Ben is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deedra A. Alexander and his son Wesley Joe Alexander of San Antonio, Texas; his sister Donna Alexander of San Angelo, Texas; and, his sister Jane and brother-in-law Bob Anderson of La Grange, Texas. His niece Kim Anderson and nephew Graham Anderson. His mother-in-law, Hermalinda Garcia of San Angelo, Texas and bothers-in-law Richard Garcia of Ballinger, Texas, Paul C. Garcia of San Angelo, Texas and Carlos and wife Judy Garcia of Colorado.
The Family would like to thank Heritage Creek Assisted Living and their entire staff, as well as, Reliant At Home Hospice caregivers for the care and compassion they all showed Ben in his final days.
