Arlene Jeanette Flores

Arlene Jeanette Flores of San Antonio passed away on July 8th . Arlene was born on March 25, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Eleanor Latorri. Arlene grew up in Chicago and this is where she met and married Mario Quintanilla Flores Jr. Mario’s Career in the Army took Arlene to many exciting locations including Ankara, Turkey, Caracas, Venezuela and Frankfurt, Germany. Arlene and Mario finally settled in San Antonio, Texas where Arlene not only raised their four boys, but also spent many, many years babysitting neighborhood children. Arlene enjoyed playing bingo, trips to Rockport, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada, and spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 57 years Mario, her sister Betty Walt, four sons, Mario Flores, Ricardo Flores and wife Yinka, Juan Flores and wife Jennifer, and Xavier Flores. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren Mario, Matthew, Amanda, Tony, Chad, Brandon, Brittany, Karis, Ashlynn, Xavier, Kelsie, Jordan, Jade and Jett and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Arlene’s name.
