William Lee Newton

Bill was born on September 11, 1942 in Raton, New Mexico to Aubie Lee and Nora Mae Newton. He graduated from Evanston High School in 1960.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. A decorated combat veteran, Bill was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star Medal for his valiant service to his country.

Bill married Sharon Carpenter, and together they had two children: Bob (Becky) Newton and Janna (Jeff) Holmes, both of Ogden, Utah. They later divorced.

Bill married Mary Kay Sauer, and together they had one son, Brad (Wyoma) Newton of Wasilla, Alaska. They later divorced.

Bill was a father and grandfather. He leaves behind his three children, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Lois Webber and Ruth Ann Newton.

Cremation is under the direction of Neptune Society.
