Mark Curtis Ripplinger

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Curtis Ripplinger, age 74, of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on July 18th, 1950, in Ogden, Utah, and peacefully passed on April 22nd, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Mark grew up in Ogden, Utah, and was the youngest of nine children. His parents were Nona Hardy and John Henry Ripplinger and siblings were Edith, Don, Dan, Jay, Janette, Diane, Valeen, and Leon. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marcia Neering, and their two sons Justin and Cobie(wife: Christina Vincent) and grandson Jesse. Mark's family moved to Salt Lake City in 1966 where he attended East High School. He continued his education in carpentry and was an excellent carpenter. In 1976 Mark was honored with a Gold Medal in both a state and national carpentry competition. His carpentry skills are exhibited in numerous dwellings of his family and friends. Mark spent many youthful summers in Teton Valley, Idaho, where his forefathers homesteaded. He adored his time spent with his uncles, aunts, and cousins. He and his wife later purchased their own property near Driggs, Idaho, and constructed a Geodesic Dome in which his family and friends have enjoyed the wonders of Idaho. He was a talented artist and created beautiful paintings for those he loved. He was, also, an amazing Stained Glass artist. He had a passion for skiing, wind surfing, and river rafting. Many of his vacations were spent rock hounding and camping all over Utah. He loved to gather with his friends and present them with matching hats that had their name embroidered on the back. The logo on the front was "Mellow Militia: In Peace We Trust". Mark would always be wearing one of these hats. He loved playing the guitar and singing with his friends and family. The Beatles were one of his favorite bands. Mark will be remembered for his fun, loving, free spirit. He created a special place in our hearts and will always be a part of us. Per Marks wishes, there will not be a funeral service. We will celebrate his life.
