Chipper was born on March 5, 1945, in Copperfield, Utah, to Kenneth “Kenny” Linnis Fullmer Sr. and Rosario “Rose” Fullmer. He was raised alongside his brothers, Arthur, George, and Lance, and from an early age displayed a curiosity about the world that would shape the course of his life.
After graduating, Chipper proudly answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. He served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade from 1966 to 1969.
In May of 1973, Chipper married Teresa Trujillo; the couple later divorced after several years.
Chipper’s greatest passions were art and learning. Once something captured his interest, he immersed himself completely, striving to understand every nuance and perspective. He spent countless hours at the library exploring a wide range of subjects. For Chipper, learning was never a task—it was a lifelong joy. A talented artist and avid collector, he found beauty in all forms of art and took pride in the unique pieces he gathered over the years.
When he was not reading or researching, Chipper could often be found tending his garden, finding peace and fulfillment in nurturing plants and watching them grow. He also had a keen eye for hidden treasures while antiquing, always searching for meaningful additions to his collections. Those who knew him understood that each piece he brought home carried its own special story.
Chipper was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny and Rose Fullmer, and his brothers Arthur and Lance Fullmer. He is survived by his daughter, Allegra Smith; his grandsons, Michael Smith and Austin Smith; his brother, George Fullmer; his nephews, Rick and Frank Fullmer; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins from the large Gomez, Ochoa, and Fullmer families.
In accordance with Chipper’s wishes, no formal services will be held. He will be interred with honors at Camp Williams Veterans Cemetery on June 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
Chipper lived life on his own terms—always curious, always growing. He will be deeply missed.
