Jack was born on August 11, 1942, in Kenilworth, Utah, to Thomas Carl Wilkerson and Verl Collard Wilkerson. He grew up alongside his siblings—Betty, Thomas, Clyde, Maxine, and Kenneth. Due to his father’s work in mining, Jack spent his early years traveling to many places which created experiences that helped shape his strong work ethic and appreciation for the outdoors. He spent countless meaningful hours mining with his father and brothers.
Jack graduated from Green River High School in 1960. Shortly thereafter, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965 aboard the USS Midway (CVA 41).
In 1966, Jack began what would become a lifelong career as an electrician after joining IBEW Local 354. His dedication to his trade spanned his entire working life, and he was deeply proud of the work he did and the brotherhood he shared.
In August of 1969, Jack married Ginger Peck. Family was the center of his world. His children meant everything to him, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. Jack found joy in working with his hands and was always in the middle of a project. He loved boating, hunting with his father, motorcycles, and his favorite vehicles—his Dodge RT and El Camino.
Jack is survived by his five children: Angie, Doug, Jack Keith Jr., Maurine “Peanut” (Torie), and Ryan (Danielle). He also leaves behind four grandchildren—Mandie, Danny (Raquel), Shae, and Colton—and four great grandchildren: Oakland, Kingston, Haylee, and Logan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at a later date. Jack will be laid to rest in Huntington, Utah.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Chamberlain family for the loving care they provided for their dad.
Jack will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong hands, his kind heart, and the legacy of dedication and loyalty he leaves behind. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
