Faustino Gutierrez Sr.

Faustino (Joe) Gutierrez 1920-2016 Our dad, grandfather, uncle, and friend Faustino (Joe) Gutierrez passed away with the beautiful sunset December 9, 2016. He always said he was going to hop on to a beautiful set of pink clouds and float away, and what a beautiful evening he chose. Born September 26, 1920 in Dawson, NM, a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army with time overseas in Europe and South Africa. Other than spending time with family, he loved going to Wendover and fishing with his best friend, adopted son, Luke Grealish (Bubba). He leaves behind his daughter, Fina Gutierrez, son in law Leon Roberts, Granddaughters JoAnn (Aaron Hampton) Sara Rose, Great Granddaughter Kandice Rose, long time partner and love Donna Walton, step daughter Karen Walton, Sister Jenny DeLaTorre Gallup, NM, along with numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Preceded in death by his son Vincent C Gutierrez. We would like to give special thank you to his nurse Erica from care giver support services, his NP Gwen Mitchell at the VA, and all of the staff at Holladay Healthcare Center who provided the best care and comfort for him during his short stay. He taught a lot of people about life, being brave, generous, honest and the importance of family. He was always there for every family event, birthday and holiday. He will be dearly missed. Per his request there will be no services.
