In Loving Memory: Donald Lee Jones: Born December 15, 1950, Also known to many as: Swede, Daddy, Dad, Papa Don, Donnie and Jonesy, was reunited with his Mother Violet Jones and other passed loved ones on December, 18, 2016 at 12:17am. He had just celebrated his 66th birthday and was surrounded during his passing by his beloved family. Don was a talented man; a jack of all trades, and a man of many words. On many occasions too many quick-witted words, but, nonetheless many. He was the life of any family gathering or party; was usually the last to leave, and was sure to send everyone off with warm wishes, and hugs. He was a loving husband who gave unconditionally. He loved to cook for her and helped her in the garden. He loved to bring home small items and gifts that made him think of her or that he thought would brighten her day. As a father raising young children, he was stern yet loving; he taught all of his children the value of hard work, righteous morals and a love for all living creatures. As his children grew into adulthood, a strong bond of love and everlasting friendship was present. He would jump to help them in any way he could and always had an ear or shoulder for them to bare their burdens. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, the twinkle in his eye, and were most cherished. They are his immortality. He is survived by his Wife, Raetta; The mother of his children, Penny; His father Harold (Dayla); His Sister, Diana (Don); His Brothers, Dave (Leslie), Delvy (Sherry); his son Michael (Heather); His daughters, Kristi (Neil), Lori (Kurt) Darlene (Jon); His Grandchildren, Travis (Brittany), Amanda (Brad), Karli (Ryan), Shayne (Jacob), Corbin, Hayden, Andrew, Sadie, Grayson, Gabby, Kayla, Lawson, Brevin, Bubba, Ciera, Stacia, His Great Grandchildren; Shelbi, Savanna, Eizyn, Skye, Alex, Maddy, Abbie, Sophia, Caleb, Rylin and Samuel. A balloon release was held in his honor at Granger High School on December 21, 2016 at 4:00pm and a Celebration of life will be held in the early summer of 2017 for family and close friends. If anyone wishes to send any condolences or flowers, per the families request, please use those funds instead for a donation to The American Cancer Society to continue the search for a cure.
